The Great White Heron with it's long neck and legs is often found stalking around lakeshores, ponds, marshes and wetlands for lizards, snakes, fish, frogs and large insects. With heavy "shaggy" feathers and long sharp beaks, these large birds are an abundant species along the Gulf Coast of Florida.
